Coming Soon! Revelation 22:6-21

Penny Frantz
This entry is part 35 of 39 in the series Revelation

As we close out our study of the book of Revelation, we come to what some call the ‘divine postscript.’  The message to the churches has come and gone, the rapture has occurred, the tribulation has taken place, the wedding of the Lamb has come, the millennium period is past, the great white throne judgment has occurred, the unbelievers, Satan and his host of demons have been thrown into the lake of fire, the present world and universe has been uncreated and the new heaven and earth revealed, the saints are forever with the Lord their God, and now a final word from Jesus.   These verses reveal the end of the vision that John sees and gives his stamp of authencity to it and it gives one more gracious invitation from Jesus to the readers before the events of this book occur. Heaven Our True Home Revelation 22:1-5

Rebekyah Brewer
This entry is part 36 of 39 in the series Revelation

The past few weeks we have called about what the millennial kingdom will be like when Christ rules the earth and also what the new heaven and the new earth will be like once all former things pass away. This week we continue to look into this wonderful place that our Lord has been busy preparing for us and as Penny said last week it’s going to be a place that has been tailor made just for us and will reveal how well Jesus knows us, knows our likes, dislikes, wishes and desires, talents and enjoyments. My Father’s House Revelation 21:9-27

Penny Frantz
This entry is part 37 of 39 in the series Revelation

Jesus told His disciples “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God believe also in Me.  In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.  If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that were I am, there you may be also.”  John 14:1-3.  In these few verses from Revelation 21, we will get a glimmer of “My Father’s House.” Continue reading

Behold I Make All Things New Revelation 21:1-8

Rebekyah Brewer
This entry is part 38 of 39 in the series Revelation

234Augustine as he was watching the sunset over the ocean once said,

“If these are the pleasures afforded to sinful men, what does God have in store for those whose hearts are his?”

What does God have in store for us? The past couple of weeks we have studied the final 1,000 year time period when Jesus Christ himself will rule over the earth called the Millennium Period. The Millennium Period is the final 1,000 years of a 7,000 year period that acts much as a Sabbath Day rest for mankind as righteousness and peace rule the world. We talked about what heaven on earth would like during this special time period when the earth will experience a great time of peace, justice and abundance with God’s Anointed One in his rightful place of authority over the nations. During this thousand year reign sin would not be absent, death would not be absent, but Satan would be locked up and unable to interfere and deceive man for a time. Those who are not part of the first resurrection, who are still mortal and must face death, will have an opportunity to choose Christ, to love Christ firsthand and the opportunity to reject him still.

A Most Dreadful Scene Revelation 20:7-15

Penny Frantz
This entry is part 39 of 39 in the series Revelation

434345Vs 7    When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison

There is every reason to believe that this is a literal 1000 years and not a symbolic time period. When a specific number has been given in Revelation it means that number. For instance 144,000 means exactly that. When it gives an indefinite reference such as the sand of the seashore it means a multitude. So Satan has been in the Abyss for a 1000 years and his nature has not changed. He is incapable of repenting. If anything he has become more determined and fiercer than ever. His anger toward God has magnified. Also it should be noted that a host of other demons are sent to the Abyss with him. They are not roaming the earth to do his bidding during this 1000 year period. Now for a short season (again no specific number) he will be released. Continue reading

Heaven on Earth Revelation 20:1-6

Rebekyah Brewer
This entry is part 34 of 39 in the series Revelation

34534In 1987 one of the top 100 billboard songs was a song by Belinda Carlisle called, “Heaven is a Place on Earth.”  The beginning of the song starts out with the chorus singing:

Ooh, baby, do you know what that’s worth?
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth.
They say in heaven love comes first.
We’ll make heaven a place on earth.
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth.

Our Warrior King Revelation 19:11-21

Penny Frantz
This entry is part 33 of 39 in the series Revelation

456456While the world was going through the Tribulation, the raptured church was in heaven being presented to the Bridegroom.  She has been miraculously protected by a Father who loves His children.  He has hidden Israel’s remnant away in an undisclosed area.  The Tribulation saints have either been martyred and are safe in heaven or they have weathered the hell on earth by His power and presence with them.  Now the time has ticked off the kingdom calendar and the moment for Jesus’ physical return to earth is about to occur.  The redemption of mankind is entering its final hour.  This thought should be on our minds often.  It has been said that studying Revelation and specifically the return of Christ is one of the least preached and taught messages in the Bible. In the rapture He comes for His saints and in the second coming He comes with His saints.   As His followers it ought to be at the forefront of our minds.  We patiently and eagerly look for His coming.  I love the verse in 2 Timothy 4:8 where Paul describes Christians as those “who have loved His appearing.” Continue reading

A Marriage Made in Heaven Revelation 19:1-10

Rebekyah Brewer
This entry is part 32 of 39 in the series Revelation

4345One again after we see the wrath of God being poured out on Babylon, the wayward church known as the Harlot and the economical system of the entire world, our eyes turn to heaven to see great worship. Wrath and Worship has continued to be a core theme throughout the book of Revelation as much as Judgment and Love is throughout the bible. They are two sides of the same coin. You cannot have one without the other. It is because of God’s great and perfect love that judgment of sin must come for all sin is a failure to love God and others as we were created and called to love God and others.  Instead we love creation and created things more than the Creator and worship them instead. It is because of this the wrath of God comes, because men are absolutely corrupt and sinful in nature and without hope. We are constantly failing to love God and others.  We are continually rebelling against God and committing adultery against Him through our idol worship. Through our preference of depending on created things, instead of our Creator. We have sinned against God. Continue reading

The Empire Destroyed Revelation 18

Penny Frantz
This entry is part 31 of 39 in the series Revelation

We come to the point that coincides with the seventh bowl judgment.  The destruction of the world system headquartered in Babylon will be the last event before the glorious return of Christ.  The destruction will be swift and sure.  The apostate church, which Rebekyah taught us last week, has been destroyed.  Now we see the political and commercial empire come down like Jericho’s walls.  Let’s take a look and see the mighty hand of God as He sweeps it across the evil empire of the Antichrist and the world that has cursed His name. Continue reading
